Description
The whole seed is delicious as a snack or added to hot cereals, vegetable dishes, breads, muffins and other baked goods. Flax seed is a rich source of alpha-linolenic acid, omega-3 fatty acids, B vitamins and a group of antioxidant compounds called lignans. Grind and add to cooked cereals, breads and other baked goods. Sprinkle whole seeds over salads and soups. Whole flax seeds retain heat, making them suitable for hot poultices and wraps, as well as filling for herbal pillows.
