Description
Dog Grass or Couch grass root is taken by mouth for constipation, cough, bladder swelling (inflammation), fever, high blood pressure, or kidney stones. It is also used for water retention.
Use strong infusions of dog grass root for a therapeutic bath or apply as a warm poultice. The root may also be made into a topical spray or infused in oil for use in salves, ointments and creams or prepared as tea or encapsulated.
safety No known precautions or herb-drug interactions. However, in theory, this herb may increase the effects of diuretics and certain medications, such as anti-diabetes drugs. Consult your health care practitioner before using this herb if you are pregnant or nursing, or if you have a chronic condition for which you take prescription medications.
