What nutritional supplements should my child take to grow taller?
on January 17th, 2011 at 1:39 pmQuestion by Unknown: What nutritional supplements should my child take to grow taller?
She’s twelve.
And I’m, a bad parent for failing to learn about nutritional supplements earlier!
Do Flintstones Vitamins work well for height growth? That’s all we’re concerned about, height growth!
And what the heck are fish oil supplements that Kelly Ripa keeps talking about?
Please help! I’ll die in shame if my child will forever be shorter than everyone else because I was a bad parent.

Good overall nutrition is the best bet, not vitamin supplements. Follow the food pyramid guide for numbers of servings of fruits, vegetables, whole grain, meats, fats, etc.

or better yet, see a pediatrician.
There’s nothing shameful, nor is one a bad parent, if a child is shorter than other children. It’s mostly genetics. Your self-debasing attitude surprises me. You need to be teaching your child self-confidence, preferably by example, as well as feeding her healthy foods.

No vitamins or supplements will change your child’t future height. Itis governed by his genes fromthe momentof conception.
The only things that stunts growth are malnutrition and/or severe illness in childhood.
Bad parent? – Not!
Nutritional supplements will make here healthier but if you are concerned with height try the following:
Hanging – Gravity is one of the biggest obstacles to growing taller. While you spend most of your day in an upright, vertical position, gravity compresses your spine and joints, squeezing and thinning the cartilage and making you shorter.
It is easy to counteract this affect through a simple hanging exercise. This exercise lets the weight of your lower torso stretch your spine and reduce the tension between your vertebrae.
Dry Land Swim – Also known as the Alternate Leg Kick, this height increasing exercise focuses on your lower back.
Pelvic Shift – This height increasing exercise is a favorite of fitness instructors all over. It is simple, but you will quickly feel the stretching that occurs up and down your spine and in your hips.
Check with your doctor before beginning any height increasing exercise regiment to make sure your body is healthy enough for these activities.
