Well it's that time of year again, when pests start rearing their ugly heads, spiders are crawling everywhere, and the creepiest bugs are starting to move about. I personally find it easier to prevent the bugs, especially when it comes to flees here in the South, then to get rid of them.

You can purchase expensive, chemical-based products or you can simply make your own bug spray that is nontoxic to your children and pets, but do not spray directly on them.

Making bug spray is quick and easy. Simply mix 1 cup of water with 1 to 2 teaspoons of essential oils into a spray bottle. The type essential oil depends on the type of pest, select from the list below.
